In our Meet the Team series, we’re excited to shine a spotlight on the dedicated AKCG team members serving our valued clients.
This week, meet Lindsay Sasson, an associate who works with our firm’s crisis communications and issues management practice team. Lindsay supports clients across various industries as the firm helps manage communications during challenge times. Learn more about Lindsay below.
Why did you want to pursue a career in public relations?
Initially, I was drawn to the variety that comes with public relations, as no two days are really the same. Going further, I recognized all the opportunities PR offered me to build relationships and think innovatively.
Most importantly, though, I am passionate about helping people effectively reach and communicate with their stakeholders. Communication lies at the foundation of every relationship. I felt that pursuing public relations would allow me to build necessary skills to connect audiences with diverse thoughts and opinions.
You were a two-time intern with AKCG’s crisis communications team. What motivated you to join the AKCG team full-time?
I witnessed how AKCG’s team truly cares for each other and its clients, and I wanted to be part of that culture full-time. I saw the emphasis on both personal and professional development and knew I would feel supported and valued by the team here.
While I gained a lot out of my internship experiences, I knew there were many more ways for me to learn, develop and challenge myself by joining full-time.
How do you center yourself on a busy workday?
A quick walk or jog outside usually does the trick! Being outside helps me to re-energize and focus better during my workday.
And while we’re here: If you could only watch one movie or television show for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Tough question. I’d probably have to say some type of Nat Geo show about animals and nature, like Hostile Planet. I’ve always had a travel bug, and these shows help me to “explore” Earth while staying at home! (But I also have a hard time saying no to New Girl!)
