Strong reputations are built one story at a time, and Meaghan Airey is skilled at finding them. As an account executive at AKCG, she develops and executes communications strategies for the firm’s senior living, higher education, independent school, and association clients.
Communications Strategy Across Four Client Sectors
Her work includes media relations, thought leadership, community engagement strategy, and strategic content development designed to help clients build, strengthen, and maintain their reputations. Working closely with AKCG’s account teams and clients, Meaghan helps secure meaningful media coverage, develop clear messaging, and carry projects from strategy through execution.
Supporting the Next Generation
Meaghan also supports AKCG’s internship program, helping emerging professionals gain hands-on experience in public relations and media relations.
National & Regional Media Coverage
A seasoned media relations practitioner, Meaghan has secured coverage for clients in national, regional, and industry media, including U.S. News & World Report, Chicago Magazine, and Bridge the Gap: The Senior Living Podcast.
One of her most meaningful placements shared the story of a transfer student from Turkey who moved to the United States at age 30 to pursue an education and career in health care.
From Intern to Account Executive
Meaghan joined AKCG as a media relations intern in 2022 and has since advanced within the firm. She earned her bachelor’s degree in media and communications with a concentration in public relations from Arcadia University. While at Arcadia, she founded a student-run public relations agency and helped lead the organization through the process of earning national affiliation.
Professional Involvement
Meaghan serves on the board of directors for the Philadelphia Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America and as co-chair of the chapter’s PR Institute, a professional development program for emerging public relations professionals. Before assuming a leadership role with the program, she participated in the 2024 PR Institute as a member of the winning team, which developed and presented a strategic communications plan for a local nonprofit organization.
Personal
Outside of work, Meaghan enjoys spending time with her fiancé, their son, and their goldendoodle.
