Angelica Flynn

Angelica Flynn serves AKCG – Public Relations Counselors as an associate vice president, handling proactive media relations efforts and strategy development for the firm’s healthcare, education and association clients.

A seasoned public relations professional, Angelica works closely with for-profit and not-for-profit organizations to build and execute media relations plans. Through this work, Angelica has helped clients secure meaningful coverage in general and trade media.

Prior to joining the firm, Angelica was a public relations specialist at Rutgers University, where she was deeply involved in the evaluation and measurement of university-wide public relations efforts. She also played a key role in building the University Communication and Marketing annual report, as well as other executive-level reports. As part of her role, she managed and optimized data related to Rutgers’ external media coverage, social media presence and university-wide news center, ultimately helping improve content strategy to further elevate the Rutgers brand. Before this position, she coordinated day-to-day marketing and communications efforts at a mid-sized law firm in Philadelphia.

She earned her Bachelor of Arts at The College of New Jersey, where she double-majored in English and communication studies and minored in marketing. She earned her master’s degree in communication and media, focusing on strategic organizational communication at Rutgers University.

Angelica is a member of the Philadelphia Public Relations Association and is an inaugural fellow of the IPREX Academy, a global leadership program designed for members of IPREX, a global network of independently owned communication agencies.
