AKCG welcomes interns each semester to gain hands-on public relations experience. Our interns work directly to support the AKCG team and our clients in crisis communications and proactive media relations efforts.
We asked our interns to describe their experience as AKCG interns. Here’s what they had to share:
Anastasia Basheer, East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania
At AKCG, my knowledge and ideas were truly valued. I appreciated the opportunity to help develop client deliverables and receive feedback on my work. Having a front-row view of how the crisis and proactive practices work helped me refine my perspectives on agencies, built my confidence for the workforce and solidified my decision to become a PR practitioner.
Jaime Hennig, The College of New Jersey
My internship at AKCG has taught me the inner workings of a PR firm by introducing me to various agency functions through hands-on client work. Working alongside the experienced members of AKCG allowed me to step outside the formal “intern” role and made me feel like I was a part of the team.
Richard Miller, The College of New Jersey
I learned so much from my mentor/supervisor about the field, ways to improve my writing and overall good business practices. This is invaluable information that will serve me in my career for years to come. I’ve never worked for a company with so many people willing to offer advice and help. It was a great experience!
