Over the past several years, AKCG – Public Relations Counselors has been in a positive and constant state of growth. To reflect our transition into the future, we refreshed our name and branding identity. We developed unique selling propositions for our media relations and thought leadership services, our crisis preparedness and response practice, as well as our spokesperson training offering and our specialized services geared to associations. We defined a mission statement and our core values. We’ve also added new members to our team.
When an organization or business seeks out public relations agencies, most prospective clients will look to see if the company’s mission and core values align with theirs, which is often an important part of the decision-making process. As our firm constantly looks toward the future, we recognized the need to formalize and cement the core values we put into action every day. Despite having worked with these values over the course of our history, we wanted to externally highlight what drives our work.
To refresh our mission statement and our set of core values, we held a firm-wide open-discussion to collectively discuss who we are, who we serve, and why we do the work we do. We felt it extremely important to include our entire team, as our entire team – from our executive administrator to our associates to our CEO – reflects our culture, our work and our clients.
Our mission statement explains our purpose, and our core values serve as a way to keep our team engaged and motivated, as well as help our clients and prospective clients understand what our employees respect and embody. Furthermore, our core values serve as a guidepost for our team’s work.
