This week, meet Katelyn Schroeder, Media Analyst. Katelyn works with both of the firm’s practices to provide detailed reports and analyses of media coverage. Learn more about her in our latest Meet the Team blog.

What motivated you to seek a career in media relations?

I have always had a curious mind and struggled in school to pick just one major or subject I loved. When I was introduced to media and communications, I was so excited by the opportunity to learn something new every single day. Once I found that niche, media relations became second-nature to me.

What about AKCG encouraged you to join the team?

From my first introduction to AKCG, I could tell the team was extremely passionate, enthusiastic, and collaborative. I knew they would support my growth as a professional and cultivate a fun, friendly environment in the office.

This is an inaugural role at AKCG. How do you anticipate partnering with the different teams at the firm to enhance media analysis?

My talent is translating breaking news into client needs. Working across the crisis and proactive teams will position the firm and our clients to leverage industry knowledge, topical issues, and national news so we’re always one step ahead.

How do you stay up to date on industry trends and practices?

I have NPR for breakfast, the Associated Press for lunch, and The Wall Street Journal for dinner. (Plus a great podcast for dessert!)

How do you center yourself during/after a busy work week?

My favorite way to decompress is to get out in nature. I love to hike, rock climb, practice yoga, or take my dog for a long walk.
