AKCG welcomes interns each semester to gain hands-on public relations experience. Our interns work directly to support the AKCG team and our clients in crisis communications and proactive media relations efforts.
We asked our spring 2022 interns to describe their experience as AKCG interns. Here’s what they had to share:
Kelly McMahon, Villanova University
I had the most amazing internship experience at AKCG. I learned about how the fast-paced nature of agency life requires attention to detail, organization, and dedication to serving your clients. I found it very rewarding to create materials for clients serving the older adult population. This was a new experience for me which I really enjoyed as the materials we created were for the betterment of this population. I would tell future AKCG interns to stay organized, especially if they are working from home. I would also suggest asking a lot of questions and getting involved in projects you think are interesting
Lindsay Sasson, Villanova University
I loved working at AKCG! As an intern, I felt like I was truly part of the team. I really enjoyed how everyday was different. I found it both challenging and exciting to have the opportunity to pivot each day to meet client needs. I found it extremely rewarding to join client calls. I learned a lot from observing the ways in which the team interacts with clients, and I think this experience will be helpful as I continue to pursue PR in the future. Don’t be afraid to ask questions and seek help! Everyone here wants you to have a rewarding and fulfilling experience, and they are more than willing to share their wisdom with you
