AKCG – Public Relations Counselors, a national strategic firm based in South Jersey, earned four awards at the 51st annual Pepperpot Awards, hosted by the Philadelphia Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). The Pepperpot Awards recognize the most outstanding public relations campaigns and strategies submitted by organizations across the Greater Philadelphia area.

“We are honored to work collaboratively with such great clients on award-winning, innovative programs,” said Chris Lukach, APR, president of AKCG. “This recognition reflects AKCG’s commitment to achieving bottom-line-focused results through a proven, strategic approach.”

In collaboration with its clients, AKCG received first-place recognition in the following categories:

  • Crisis Communications and Issues Management
  • Feature Stories
  • Media Relations (Non-profit)
  • Public Service

During the ceremony, Mike Gross, APR, senior vice president and COO of AKCG, presented the 12th annual Anne Sceia Klein Professional Promise Award to Emma McClain, a senior at Temple University. The award, named after AKCG’s founder, recognizes a local student who demonstrate dedication to the field of public relations and distinguish themselves both academically and through volunteerism.

Additionally, former AKCG COO and current Rowan University professor, John Moscatelli, APR, Fellow PRSA, received the Anthony J. Fulginiti Award for Commitment to Education. The award honors a professional who excels in education, either through mentoring or teaching, and whose efforts help shape the careers of future PR professionals.

Since 1968, PRSA Philadelphia’s Pepperpot Awards have been a staple of the public relations and communications industries in the area. This year, a third-party PRSA chapter judged more than 75 entries across 26 categories, including public relations campaigns, research, social media and design pieces.
