AKCG – Public Relations Counselors earned six total awards, including the coveted “Best in Show” Award, at the 50th annual Pepperpot Awards ceremony, hosted by the Philadelphia Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). The Pepperpot Awards recognize the most outstanding public relations campaigns and tactics submitted by organizations across the Greater Philadelphia area.

“We are thrilled to earn such an incredible honor,” said Chris Lukach, APR, president and owner of AKCG. “I am proud of the hard work and dedication our team exhibits each day, and I am thankful to have such fantastic, collaborative clients who help us create award-winning work.”

AKCG took home five first-place Pepperpot Awards in the categories of Community Relations, Internal Employee Communications, Media Relations (Nonprofit), Public Service and Feature Stories. In partnership with client Mercy Health System, AKCG earned “Best in Show” for its Feature Stories entry, “Thought Leadership Positioning in a Crowded Health Care Marketplace,” which helped position Mercy’s physicians as leaders in quality, compassionate health care.

Additionally, during the ceremony, AKCG Founder Anne Sceia Klein, APR, Fellow PRSA, presented the 11th annual Anne Sceia Klein Professional Promise Award to Milan Genovese, a senior at Villanova University. Each year, the award recognizes a member of a local Public Relations Student Society of America Chapter who has demonstrated dedication to the field of public relations and distinguished himself or herself both academically and professionally.

Since 1968, PRSA Philadelphia’s Pepperpot Awards have been a staple of the public relations and communications industries in the area. This year, more than 110 entries were independently judged by a PRSA Chapter in Texas across 40 categories, including public relations campaigns, research, social media and design pieces.
