When a crisis hits, the work behind the scenes is what keeps a response moving. Mike Garrett is the person AKCG’s crisis communications team counts on to keep that work on track.
Keeping AKCG’s Crisis Communications Team Moving
As a Project Coordinator, Mike provides day-to-day operational oversight and client support for AKCG’s crisis communications and reputation management practice. He’s the connective tissue between counselors and clients, making sure deliverables move, deadlines hold, and nothing falls through the cracks when the stakes are high.
Before joining AKCG, Mike supported service-based and nonprofit clients at a public relations firm in Philadelphia, where he contributed to media relations, content development, and account management. He also worked in higher education, managing website content and building visual assets for digital marketing campaigns, experience that sharpened both his writing and his eye for how a message actually reaches an audience.
Education & Early Career
Mike is a summa cum laude graduate of Rowan University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in public relations with minors in strategic communications and sociology. While at Rowan, he served as a production editor for the university’s student newspaper, work that gave him an early, practical education in accuracy, deadlines, and editorial judgment, skills he now brings to AKCG’s crisis practice every day.
In his free time, Mike enjoys playing sports, reading, and spending time with his family.
