Good coverage starts with the right pitch, and that’s where Emma Engle comes in. As an associate at AKCG, she serves clients in education and senior living, translating their expertise and priorities into timely, relevant media opportunities through skilled media pitching.
Media Relations at AKCG
As a media relations practitioner, Emma has secured a portfolio of coverage that illustrates clients’ key messages while supporting their bottom-line business goals.
From Pitch to Placement
Emma supports each phase of the media relations process, from development through execution, coordinating closely with clients and media contacts along the way. She considers the broader news landscape, client goals, and audience when developing story angles, targeted pitches, and outreach designed to earn coverage across print, digital, broadcast, and podcast outlets. She also develops materials to help prepare spokespeople to communicate their perspectives clearly and effectively.
Background in Agency & Healthcare Communications
Prior to joining AKCG, Emma gained experience in both agency and healthcare settings. She supported clients across several industries through media pitching, targeted outreach, social media content, and media database development. She also contributed to digital marketing efforts for a major regional health system, including keyword research, search engine optimization, and website and campaign performance analysis.
Education & Involvement
Emma earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in public relations and advertising from Rowan University, along with a minor in journalism. While at Rowan, she participated in the student-run firm ProfAgency and served as secretary of the Anthony J. Fulginiti Chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America.
She remains actively involved in the region’s public relations community as a member of the Philadelphia Public Relations Association’s College Relations Committee.
