As an account manager, Darrah Pilieri, APR, has a knack for building valuable relationships with her clients, the media and fellow team members. She understands the importance of building trust, and she carries that through her work at AKCG.
In addition to leading a proactive media relations team, Darrah assists with marketing and business development efforts for the agency.
Prior to joining AKCG, Darrah was the marketing and public relations coordinator at Independence Seaport Museum in Philadelphia, where she managed the website, event planning and social media presence.
Darrah currently serves on the Board of Directors as secretary of the Philadelphia Public Relations Association Foundation. Additionally, Darrah serves on the Best Practices Committee of IPREX, a global network of independently owned communication agencies. As a committee member, Darrah assists with engaging agencies in the aggregation, facilitation and sharing of industry best practices.
Darrah graduated cum laude from Rowan University, where she earned joint Bachelor of Arts degrees in public relations and journalism. As a student, she was president of the Anthony J. Fulginiti Chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America, the largest pre-professional society in the United States. Darrah was inducted into Lambda Pi Eta, the National Communication Honor Society, which recognizes outstanding scholastic achievement while stimulating interest in the communication discipline.
